Jumping Frogs of Calaveras County
You’ve most likely heard about the Jumping Fogs of Calaveras County but do you know the history behind it? Samuel Clemens was from San Francisco and came to the Angels Camp area to stay in his cabin quite often. He wrote his first book called “The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County”. He used the name of Mark Twain and the story was about Jim Smiley and his little frog Dan’l Webster. Samuel's book was published in 1865.
